A slow smile appeared on the cook’s mouth, the marines were forming around them. He looked at the man telling him to run, that was like making a human not breath. He was born and bred a pirate, running was never right. Brandishing his sword with his un-hindered arm once more, Hancock walked beside Javier. He so wished he didn’t have the bullet stashed into him.
“Like you said” Hancock started “only a flesh wound” he finished with a sly smirk toward the marines. An entire squadron had advanced on them, two pirates in one area with one injured was a treasure trove after all.
If the swordsman didn’t take action, he definitely would. Hancock was a man who disliked fighting too much, but a pirate can never trust himself or anyone can they. The leader of the marines opened his mouth to say something, but Hancock was faster, he jumped up in front of him and used his ability Deck to jump in the air and spin fast.
If the wound opened up again he would most likely be hindered more than slightly, but his ability had threw the marines backward. Slashing them one by one with his weapon Cross, at one time he even threw his sword into the air and grabbed his knife to throw at a marine getting closer to Javier and then plucking the sword from the air to continue war. A pirate was always a pirate.

Javier noted the man's blade as it was drawn; nice, strong, definite. Some upgrading and that blade could be a real piece of art. On top of that the black coat was a nice touch, he liked it. Part of him wanted it, and had it not been for the cook's kindness towards him, he would take it. As the marines advanced, his friend shot forth, pushing the marines back. One grew close to Javier, and a knife stopped that straight up. As Hancock battled, Javier inched back. He wasn't foolish. This was Loguetown, and this was probably one of the few marine squads here. The place didn't have too many of them, after all.
Stepping back, he tipped a cigarette out and lit it, inhaling deeply and observing the fight. No marines went for Javier, as he currently posed no threat. Javier didn't fight side by side typically with people he didn't know too well, and this guy seemed to be reckless. Then again, Javier was just as reckless, just in another nature. Javier was unpredictable, and this guy...well, his fighting style was more subtle, and he was launching his attacks wherever he could.
"Keep your head down." He muttered as a Marine drew the pistol to shoot Hancock once again. This time, Hancock would surely dodge the shot. The guy was directly in front of Hancock, only a few feet away. Marines....pitiful.

The blade shined as it simmered through the air slicing and dicing, it didn’t seem like Javier would fight anymore, he seemed to just stay there and watch him pour blood onto the ground. Grabbing Cross with both hands he thrust forward and stopped a man’s heart in front of him. The gun was pointed directly at him he looked straight into the marine, he was weak, listless, and he was seemingly a newer marine.
The bullet shot and one second before that Hancock blurred to the side and threw his sword at the marine with the gun. Accuracy wasn’t his best bet, but the marine was confused and died clutching the sword in his ribs. He walked over to the man and pulled his black, sleek sword out, Cross was handed down to him from his ancestors as an antique weapon.
“A bullet is such a useless thing when not used properly” he said slowly as he looked around the area for any more marines. It looked clear to him so he sheathed his sword and lit a cigarette like Javier. “And you told me to run” he said looking straight at the pirate in front of him. The area was littered with marines, more could come at a moment’s notice, but they could die at a moment’s notice as well.

"And you wanted to charge into battle head first." Javier muttered, his arm clinging to his blade as he surveyed the ground, which was sadly splattered with the remains of dead corpses. Raising a brow, he shook his head. Javier was a wild type, blood thirsty in some manners, but even he didn't launch into a marine corp with blades flying. He didn't want his bounty to get too big. This man just killed Seven Marines, and that meant his bounty was getting bigger.
"You realize by doing that your bounty's got to be....pretty damn high." He gripped his blade, almost as offering a challenge to collect the bounty. He wasn't going to though, that wasn't his intention. His intention was to merely warn his friend, and stay cautious if any bounty hunters showed up.

Smoke filled the air, the cigarette in his hand dropped and he crumpled it with his foot. “Seven Marines huh, I could’ve sworn there were more” he uttered with a hand going up to his chin. “Bounty is not a problem since they cannot catch me” Hancock said with a smile, marines would probably be arriving any moment now and then more blood would be spilled. The red substance that drenched his sword and took oath with the ground seemed to shine and flash, it disgusted him.
He looked up into the sky and almost fell asleep with his head drowned in the blue of the earth, they say that ocean covered much more than the land, but yet the ocean was too small to really do anything for anyone. It only made bloodshed, it wrote our future, but he wouldn’t get controlled so easily. A man can fool his fate.

Javier wanted to avoid the bounty on his new friend from getting higher, but as they stood awaiting, 8 marines approached Hancock, and 5 approached from Javier's side. Looking to Hancock, a grin ran across his face. "I want some more of that cooking, boss." He knew that this scenario was only getting worse, but he knew it would be necessary to defeat these marines and escape.
Holding his blade outright, he faced the four marines and motioned for them to make a move. The first one did, angered by the view of other dead marines. Javier sidestepped the first slash, kicking the mans knee in and breaking it, following that with an upward knock of his hilt, he knocked the marine flat out.
