As the carriage type thing came to a halt, I would be the second one to get off, jumping right over the edge and landing on the balls of my feet to lessen the impact of the jump. I wouldn't initiate any conversation for now, I wanted to figure out what was going on first. So, I took the initiative to enter the building and continue moving, without waiting for anyone. When I got inside, I was surprised, this mansion was beautiful, inside and out. But, it didn't suit my tastes, I'd hate to live in a mansion all by myself, I was more of a apartment type of guy. The knights lined up, equipped with halberds gave the mansion a even better touch.
I followed the bright red carpet all the way to the door, entering inside, I moved towards a table in the middle of the dining room. So I could be not too close to the man standing atop the balcony, and not too far away either. Sitting down in a comfy leather chair, I relaxed myself and position my eye on the man watching us from his safe position near the balcony. He had all of my attention for now, so I hoped he had something good to say, or I would be quite disappointed.

The scream that passed over that spread quickly over and followed with a threat that seemed to be humorous to an extent, or maybe it was actually really happening. This event might have been one that contained many jokes but it was risky just assuming everything going down was going to be safe.
Surely his safe deduction was somewhat correct as he noticed the glint similar to some sort of blade. As they moved in closer they continued until they were met up with a large gate. Two gargoyles sat in both upper corner in there sitting positions, the artistic nature of them amused Zero. The gates suddenly opened, but scanning the area he noticed no one nearby that was able of opening the door.
There was a trail, a red carpet that lead to the door of a large room where the turtle began to follow. They entered a room where a man stood inside, the social men that rode along began to speak but it still interested the man that seemed to be the mastermind behind everything. He kept himself quite but aware of his surroundings.

“ Crrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaak. Bang! Click.
Flashy. I wonder how much of this was made with stolen money and contraband?
The marine couldn’t help but be impressed at the enormous mansion before him and his other companions. It wasn’t too often that he found a nice place with the doors and interior scaled for someone his size, especially out here in the blue seas surrounding the Grand Line. Just when did they find the time to make something so huge just for the fair? Maybe they just bought or stole it from some of their victims in Loguetown or something.
He decided to keep his thoughts to himself and walked along with the others quietly. His cynicism and paranoia were urging him to constantly be vigilant about his surroundings because of the sheer ominous vibe that the place radiated, which in turn forced him to take stock of every single thing that made this place so grand and stereotypically gaudy.
For once though, he was glad of his usual vigilance as it allowed him to spot the visage of the infamous Javier Santana standing on the balcony. The first mate of the wretched host crew for the fair was surveying them all, as if he was waiting for something to happen. Or perhaps he was waiting for someone? Whatever the case may be, the marine in disguise instantly became more wary in the presence of someone whom marine intelligence reports claim to be powerful yet mentally-unstable.
While keeping golden orbs trained on him, Salazar calmly walked towards a wall and leaned on it. There was no furniture in the room large enough or sturdy-looking enough to hold him and his bulk, so he was sticking to leaning on walls for now. He would have sat on the floor instead, but it would be harder to react to anything dangerous if he was sitting down on the pristine floor or carpet.
Let’s see what this is about, shall we?

Even the first interesting happening was what could be expected form a ghost story. The gates swung open as if no one was there touching them, but of course there was probably just some people hiding in the shadows making it all happen. Stepping off of the turtle with all the others, Luciano tried to hang to the back of the pack, preferring to keep a watchful eye from the background for a bit. Things were always much more interesting in ghost stories if you were in the background where things sneak up on you.
The place even had empty suits of armor standing around, weapons clasped firmly in their hands. Sure would be surprising if they attacked all of a sudden. The man standing at the top of the stairs was the assumed host of the haunted house event. The whole set up was interesting, the red carpet stretching out into the back of the room and two spiral staircases. A design that wouldn't look too bad incorporated into his next big dream house project. For now though, he simply slipped his hands in his pockets and awaited the beginning of their trip through the house of supposed terrors. It would be a shame to be disappointed. [/style] |

As they all settled in, the lights would cut off, and then cut back on a moment later. Javier would be gone, and the sudden changing of the lighting would disturb most eyeballs. If anyone was capable of seeing in the dark, they would simply see Javier vanish out of thing air.
As they were cut back on, he would be standing behind them along with a balding Butler. "Meet Watson, the Butler." He smirked slightly. One of them would have disappeared completely, with no apparent trace of where they had gone. It was Zero. He was gone from the group, and removed from the thread.
"There is a murderer amongst us. Zero was the first to die. Can you find out who the murderer is before he strikes again? Now, obviously no one is really dead, its just a game! No killing or fighting each other, clues will be scattered throughout the mansion."
Lighting a cigarette, he chuckled softy as the Butler handed out cards to each person.
"Now, keep in mind that you may not share your cards information with anyone. If you do, you will be executed immediately. Everyone will receive a reward based on certain, secret achievements. We are watching." Watson smiled.
[ooc: Zero will be given a reward, and the cards will be PM'ed to each of you. Sharing them is against the rules, and definitely not fun. Being the first to find the murderer isn't how you win the grand prize, its how you get a bonus. The grand prize is based on how well you receive the hints and how legit you make this. If you stumble upon a clue during your searches, I will post and say so.]
A map of the three story mansion showed 14 rooms on the top level, an office that was off limits on the second as well as a kitchen, a training room, and an exercise room. The first floor held a dining room, a living room, an entertainment room, a library, and a courtyard and swimming pool. The Basement consisted of a large cellar with alcohol and a furnace.

Ichiryu was slightly annoyed. Javier had completely ignored him. Darkness fell for a short time and Javier had vanished. What the hell? This guy ignored him and then did all that? What the fuck? It seemed in the brief period of darkness that one of their number had vanished. Haunted house? No, it had become a murder mystery. That was annoying and interesting. The dissapearing trick was truly quite amazing and he was curious as to how Javier had done it. He had seemingly teleported in the period of darkness and made another one vanish. That was how the game was to begin it seemed. An interesting game idea to say the least and much more entertaining then a haunted house. Now he had reason to be frightened. Well, kind of. The only real reason was that he might be taken out of the game next and not get as big a prize. THat would be really depressing. For this game one of them was a 'murderer' for the game and needed to be caught. They would be caught via clues of some kind. He listened to the rules carefully and took his card from the butler. After glancing at it for a moment he slipped it into his pocket and began to walk away. It was time to begin.
"Well gang, like the great Fred once said: Let's split up and search for clues." he said loudly with a chuckle. "Meet back here in an hour with whatever we find I guess." He considered where to begin. With a brief moment of focus he activated his wolf sense ability. This would allow him to be more aware of things around him. He doubted it would help much, but perhaps he could use it to detect someone hiding or something like that. The basement seemed too obvious a place for clues to be hidden as it was probably the creepiest place. However, perhaps it was meant to seem obvious in order to stop people going down there. "Reverse psychology." With that he walked about till he found a way to go down to the basement. All the while he was looking for this way he was also looking for clues.
Eventually he arrived at a way down and descended the stairs cautiously looking for signs of anyone at all. There had to be something down here, but what? He had no idea what he was looking for except clues. He decided to begin with the alcohol. He would look at each bottle carefully, two at a time, looking for clues on them or in them.
The basement was quite dark, but was lit by the furnace. For most people it would not be enough for people to see, but for Ichiryu it was just enough. His wolf sense was still active so he'd be aware of anyone sneaking up on him. He wondered if he would find anything down here. Surely he would. It would make sense for there to be clues all around the building. That was why he had told the group to split up and return later with what they found. Whether they would listen was another matter, but it seemed to him to be the most logical strategy.

“ For a moment, Salazar’s world was plunged into pure darkness. Golden eyes widening in the dark, his thoughts began to race at the sudden loss of light. While there was a chance that this could’ve been just a freak black-out, the giant was far too world-weary to think of something that naïve. For him, there was no doubt that this was intentional, probably to raise levels of fear inside the participants.
Before he was able to think up of a more detailed theory though, the lights flooded back on a moment later. Unfortunately, the sudden change in stimuli was enough to hurt his eyes, making him wince and turn away from the bright lights. He was tempted to curse at the sudden pain from his eyeballs, but he was suddenly interrupted by someone’s voice… from behind them.
Even though his eyes still stung like hell, the giant still had more than enough of his mental faculties left intact to turn towards the sound of the voice with his eyes closed.
"There is a murderer amongst us. Zero was the first to die. Can you find out who the murderer is before he strikes again? Now, obviously no one is really dead, its just a game! No killing or fighting each other, clues will be scattered throughout the mansion."
Wait a minute?! What the hell did I just sign up for?! Upon hearing about the game, the giant frowned and rubbed his eyes roughly to speed up the return of his sight. After rubbing his eyes, he opened them and blinked his eyelids rapidly to get rid of the remaining spots out of his vision.
Once Salazar’s vision cleared, the first thing he saw was an old human –who he suspected was Watson since he didn’t see him before- handing him a card. ”Thank you.” He mumbled as he took the card from the butler carefully and took a long look at it.
"Now, keep in mind that you may not share your cards information with anyone. If you do, you will be executed immediately. Everyone will receive a reward based on certain, secret achievements. We are watching."
Glancing at the butler again, he looked thoughtful for a few heartbeats before he simply sighed and nodded. It looked like he had no choice but to play by their rules for now. Besides, they said that no one was really dying and that this was just a game, and even though they were pirates he guessed that they were probably telling the truth. After all, it wasn’t in Javier Santana’s style –or at least not from what he learned in marine espionage reports- to use such a long and puzzling way of killing.
Let’s see what’s on this floor. The giant marine thought as he put the small card in his pants’ pocket and walking towards the nearest door. Once he was in front of the door, he sighed once again before putting his game face on and opening it… revealing the library.
This… is a lot of books. He thought in awe as he crossed the threshold and went inside what was one of the most impressive libraries he had ever seen. My brethren would probably hate it in here. Heh.
Now let’s see if there’s any hints hidden in the books or the massive shelves. After steeling himself in the face of what looked to be a very tedious act, the giant approached the shelf that was farthest to the left and began checking the books and shelves, a container, page and cover at a time. Granted, he only scanned through them since he had absolutely no time to read everything in here. Not even if someone granted him the ability to speed read.
This is going to take a while….

One of their numbers seems to have been "Murdered" taken out of the equation for the laughs it would seem. Now they had to hunt down clues to find out who the real killer was, scouring this entire mansion for anything to connect the murderer to his dirty deed. A highly unlikely feat seeing as how all the clues should be somewhere around the place they were all standing right now. Nonetheless Luciano felt it would be best to follow the track they'd been set on and play detective for once. It would be boring to play by the rules though, so Luciano decided to spice things up a bit. In his own special way of course.
Walking up to the butler, he welcomed the card into his hand with a tip of his hat before slipping it away into his inside coat pocket. Pulling out one of his knives, he looked briefly around the area they were in for some hint of a clue, but mostly to see where everyone else was going before slipping off after the giant. The knife twirled on his finger as he followed in silence, stalking the giant as he walked off knowing his appearance might already have drawn suspicion to him. It was like playing with the deck stacked against you really if people started to disregard evidence, which was exactly Luciano's plan. His knife made a soft whistling sound as it twirled on his finger, the giant having just entered the library, Luciano slipped in after him.
The place was loaded with old dusty books that you would expect in a mansion like this. They looked like they hadn't been used in awhile. Luciano sat in silence as he observed his target, watching and waiting for something to be found. He'd know everything the giant knew and hopefully be able to get more information out of the thing. Those cards were sure to tell quite the tale if they could be picked up. For now, he had to wait for the hand to be dealt. [/style] |

Oh? A butler and someone was missing? How cliche... But, something didn't sit right with me, seeing as I had my eye on everyone, when the lights went off, and swiftly back on, I was shocked to see Zero missing. These pirates were quite the people, being able to take someone away so fast, without a trace of evidence? Or so they thought, I was going to get to the bottom of this, mostly because I loved these kinds of things. As I listened to the Butler, a glint of interest glowed from my left eye, I walked up to him and welcomed my card with utmost gratitude.
I nodded my head in the Butler's direction, before moving back to my spot. None of us were to share our cards, how fun, I wouldn't ruin the surprise, no way. But, I did have a feeling that someone in this room was going to share his personal finds, something that I thought would ruin all the fun. Regardless, when we had the opportunity to start the entire search, I did the most obvious thing, and walked over to the spot where Zero was before the man mysteriously disappeared.
Crouching down, I took a look at the area around, and exactly where he stood. I wondered if I was going to find a clue over here, I hoped so, but if not, it looked like I'd have to go look elsewhere.
