Annual Cooking Battle Tournament

Hey everyone i'm your friendly forumhood event chef and today i'm gonna be cooking up quite an interesting event. From the sounds of the title it sounds like its just gonna be some iron chef cook off like event. Well, in a way it kind of is, but note the word battle in the title. Cooking, unless in extreme circumstances, is not really a battle, but this one is definitely a battle.

You will be given some basic ingredients, everyone will get the same ingredients. Your task will be to create something with those ingredients. Of course, on top of those you'll have stuff like flour, sugar and salt. The challenge is to create the best dish using those ingredients in order to win a prize or prizes. Sounds simple right? Well, now comes the twist.

There is a way to gain more ingredients, in order to give yourself more variety. However, these ingredients must be earned and they must be earned through combat. Now I can hear some of you saying: But what if my guy isn't really much of a fighter? Well, the answer to that is simple. This is a team event. You will be able to enter it either solo or into a team of up to three people.

Good afternoon everyone. The event is about to begin. If one member of each team could create a thread please and then the team will be given their starting ingredients by myself or another mod.

Starting ingredients:

Shrimp
Sake
Salmon
Potato
Pork
Noodles
Red Pepper
Green Pepper
Oysters.

You can use as few or many as you want. More ingredients can be earned, as mentioned, through battle. If you lose an ingredient battle you will pick from a list of low quality ingredients. If you win you will pick from a list of high quality ingredients. These lists will be presented to you when you win or lose the battle

Due to lack of participation from other members as well as a staffing issue for this event. It is now closed. I may try and do a similar event later when the site is more up and running.

Calico will not receive the first prize because, due to an error on my part, he could not post. However, due to his schedule he probably wouldn't of been able to post. He will however receive the beri for first prize.


Carrot will receive the first prize and he is free to choose whether he receives df or haki. However, what he gets will be randomnly decided.

Carrot has decided to pick a devil fruit.


After a random generation done by Aaron and Javier the following fruit was generated.

Doa Doa no mi

The Doa Doa no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create doors through anything they touch, making the user a Door Human (ドア人間 Doa Ningen?). The doors they create can be created from any part of their body, from the palm of their hands to their whole body itself, and usually take the shape and form of the body part creating it. The doors remain as passageways anyone can pass through until closed completely.

he fruit's first and foremost strength, as demonstrated by Blueno, is that it gives its user the ability to create a door on almost any solid matter so that they can enter through. This allows them and anyone else passage through the object no matter how thick or strong it is. Though this ability is normally used to gain free passage, the user can also exploit this for other ways, such as trapping an opponent's feet in small doors created beneath their feet. This power can also be used on living persons as well and can thus be used to deter opponents by creating doors on their body in order to immobilize them.

One of the greatest strengths of the fruit's powers however, is that the user can also create doors through the very atmosphere itself. These Air Doors lead into a pocket dimension of sorts that is apparently within the air itself. This is ideal for stealth purposes, since this dimension not only allows the user and anyone else to travel across vast distances, but also provides a safe haven for them to stay in from which they can either observe and ambush enemies from, or survive through large scale attacks. Its only downside is that while inside this pocketed dimension, the user has no means to interact with the real world other than to exit first to return themselves back there.

Perhaps the Fruit's most prominent weakness is that once "doors" have been manifested, rather than remaining that way indefinitely, they will automatically re-seal themselves once again after a set amount of time, regardless be it by Blueno's volition or simply by their own. This was seen when Luffy's face, after being turned partially into a revolving door by Blueno, reverted back to normal shortly after that. According to Blueno, this is because "if a door is opened, it must close". Other than that, the fruit is weak against the standard Devil Fruit weaknesses.
