Boin Archipelago, a location in the Grand Line that was supposed to be so dangerous that no Pirate ever returned. Then again, it was unlikely that another pirate had ever, at any point, arrived through the use of a small one man ship. At this point, however, Cross was beyond hungry. He couldn't carry many supplies at once, so he had to master the art of thinning them out - and this would, of course, eventually lower his prowess as a pirate in the long run. Glancing upward at the large island, Cross shrugged. He knew not what could be so dangerous about the island, and thus felt no qualm stepping foot on it. Pulling his boat up to shore, he yawned, adjusting his large pirate hat, as he walked onto the island calmly.
"Ain't a goddamn thing on this island, yo. I might as well turn back and tell everyone what I saw he- Oh yeah. Food."
With that, the pirate realized he may be stuck on an empty island - having to live off leaves. His imagination getting the best of him, he kicked off the sands of the shore, rushing into the island at a decently breakneck pace, leaving his boat behind without a second thought. As he reached the forest section, he noticed a great deal of plants, and vegetables - which brought a smile to his face. He could easily stock up on these, and return to his ship - or so he thought. Kicking onto the side of a tree, he reached up for it's plant. However, this plant was nothing normal. It opened, to reveal a set of teeth, and the fact that the entire tree was, in fact a man eating monster which was waiting for Cross to make a wrong move.
Quickly, and mostly reflexively, he kicked the side of the tree beast, moving away from it mostly - however leaving his hat to be preyed on by the beast. Instead of counting his blessings, because he had more hats, he landed, and quickly rushed the beast. Before it could imagine swallowing Cross' had whole, he had reached the top of the tree again. It opened it's large mouth to attempt eating Cross again - and he played into it's hand. He reached his left hand inside, grabbing his hat, as it started to close it's mouth. However, this time, Cross planted a foot on the inside of it's mouth, kicking outward. Being a plant, it couldn't withstand too much force, and mostly relied on it's swiftness. However, Cross was superior in this area, and thus the plant stood little chance. It's mouth was ripped open, and Cross got his hat back with little resistance. Pulling his blade with his left hand - his free hand, he spun it around slashing through the mid-section of the tree beast, before landing, lowering his hat onto his head, before standing, and turning away from the beast. With a swing of his rapier, he spun, and re-sheathed it, growling.
"Never again, will an ignorant beast defile my fuckin' outfit, yo."
