PERSONALITY ■
Nicola is a man forged through hardship and combat, which has made him a man of strong convictions and stubborn disposition; it’s almost near-impossible to change his way of thinking and he’s fond of going along with what he believes is right, even if it will get him killed in the process. This also gives him a rather reckless demeanor, having very little care for his well-being and preferring to simply go all-out in every situation. His recklessness displays a bravery that most men do no possess, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal, but it also makes him somewhat suicidal. This seeming lack of self-worth makes him too prone to go for the suicide final charge method, instead of simply stepping back and wondering if there is less life-threatening ways to go about the situation.
A rough past and generally unpleasant childhood has also made him an extremely violent individual, prone to solving most of his problems through pain and bloodshed. Nicola is a firm believer in utterly crushing those whom he deems a threat and rarely doles out mercy; if someone challenges Nicola to combat, it’s safe to assume he’s aiming to kill, regardless of how serious the challenge actually was. Something of a sadist, he’s developed an addiction to combat and fights, even moreso when he’s winning. Despite his obvious joy of combat, he does harbor a deep fear of his own violent tendencies; parts of him wonders if he’s following the same self-destructive path his father once walked and whether he’s simply turning into the same person he once vehemently hated.
Nicola tends to be a crass and rude individual who isn’t averse to simply saying whatever he thinks of someone, no matter how offensive it could be. There are very few people in the world that he shows respect for and even they are not immune to his biting wit. He’s an avid lover of sarcasm and can prove to actually be a great deal wittier than one would assume, being somewhat quick of mind. He even has moments of cunning as well, due to having a very predatory attitude. While he’s no genius or master planner, he can manipulate situations to his advantage if need be, though oftentimes he tends to simply forgo planning/foresight and take an opponent head-on. The swordsman is also an incredibly cynical individual, having very little faith in the goodness of the human soul. He’s inherent distrustful of most people and honestly believes there’s a high chance they’ll let you down in the end. This doesn’t make him anti-social, it simply means that he’s always formulating his plans around the assumption that someone will fuck it up somehow. Despite this, Nico can be an extremely overprotective guy; when he finds someone he feels as if he can put his faith in, he will protect them to his dying breath, not letting a single misfortune befall them if he can help it.
While most healthy males will admit to a love of women, it’s safe to say Nicola loves them a hell of a lot more than most. A believer that a joyful life is accompanied with excessive wine and women, Nicola can be a promiscuous individual. He’s known to frequent the red-light district and plunk down several hundred berries for a few jugs of wine, a few girls and a nice long night inside. Nicola is also a closet romantic, secretly having a love for those cheesy romance stories with dashing men and seductive women, wanting nothing more than to find the perfect little spitfire to complete him.

Kill Flow: An style of swordsmanship developed by himself, this style puts an strong emphasis on skilled use of combining one’s muscle strength and momentum into a continuous flow of attacks. By learning how to accurately shift the body’s own weight, one can take advantage of natural momentum gained through constant movement and use it to augment the strength of one’s attacks. This technique is only possible by those who have gained a superior level of muscle control/power. Attacks from this style seem to be rather un-orthodox and strange, having a wild flow that can catch more traditional sword-fighters off-guard. The downside of the style is that it offers little in refined technique and accuracy, making it more of a strictly offensive style. Because of it’s reliance on keeping constant pressure, it can be sufficiently countered if one stands their ground and meets the attacks head-on with a solid defense.
Grasscutter Draw: An terribly simple attack when one examines it, this technique draws heavily on both strength and haste to be truly effective. An variation of the traditional battojutsu technique, Nicola takes a low stance before drawing his sword out in what appears to be a quick-draw horizontal slash. However, at the last moment possible, he shifts his weights and changes the slash’s trajectory in that of an upward horizontal slash. Most of the technique’s effectiveness lies in it’s speed, power and that it’s feint. However, it isn’t the type of technique that should be used multiple times in one battle; because it’s nothing of a terribly complex attack, one can counter it if they have prior experience of how it works or of deft reflexes and sight. This slash has a cooldown of 3 posts and it’s range extends exactly 3 feet, slightly larger than the actual length of the katana due to dashing forward.

WEAPONS/ITEMS ■ Tooth-Barer: A slightly larger than average katana, being 30 inches in length, he refuses to tell anyone where obtained the katana, only that he cherishes almost more than his own life. It’s somewhat strange in that it’s blade is somewhat darker than most and the curve is just a bit more pronounced, making it evident that this was a blade forged for slashing and cutting limbs.
